WHEN TO START AND END QUARANTINE

The following guideline will be followed for students:

When a student has symptoms of COVID 19 and is not tested, the student must quarantine until symptoms subside.

  • The student must be without fever for 24 hours

  • The student’s symptoms must be gone (see link above)

When a student has tested positive with COVID 19, the student must quarantine for 10 days.

  • The student will quarantine for a minimum of 10 days since symptoms first appeared

  • The student may return after 10 days of quarantine and shows no symptoms

  • And 24 hours with no fever

If you have or think you might have COVID-19, it is important to stay home and away from other people. Staying away from others helps stop the spread of COVID-19. If you have an emergency warning sign (including trouble breathing), get emergency medical care immediately. Please click the following link to view quarantine scenarios:

Booker ISD Statement On Coronavirus and Disinfecting Method

Booker Independent School District is monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Keeping the health and well-being of our students and staff as our highest priority and we feel it is necessary to take precautions.

Our staff is diligently disinfecting the schools thoroughly in the evenings and on the weekends using Victory Innovation Electrostatic Mister in combination with special germ killing BruTabs supplied by Mayfield Paper. “CLICK HERE” for additional information.

BISD will continue to follow the CDC / DSHS guidelines and recommendations regarding Coronavirus. These recommendations offer preventative measures for our community, school staff, parents, and students:

  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds multiple times throughout the day

  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Stay home when sick.

  • Cough or sneeze into an elbow or use a tissue and place immediately in the trash.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

  • Do not to share personal items like drinks, food, or unwashed utensils.

Our school and community can play an important role in preventing the introduction and spread of a variety of viruses, including COVID-19.

Booker ISD will continue to work with the Texas Education Agency, local government and neighboring schools.  We will update the district website and social media channels if any significant information becomes available.
