Election Date and Location

BISD Board of Trustee elections are held on the first Saturday in May. The upcoming trustee election will be held on May 4, 2024.

Early voting will begin Monday, April 22, 2024 and concludes on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Voters may cast their votes at the Booker City Hall located at 222 S. Main Street, Booker, Texas.

Ballot position drawing will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024. The meeting will begin at 7:30 located at the administration office.

Eligibility and Requirements

An individual desiring to become a school board member must meet specific requirements in order to be eligible for office.

Current state law requires a candidate for trustee of an independent school district to be a qualified voter by the time required by Election Code Section 141.001.

Booker ISD Board of Trustees term of office is for 3 years of service.

Application

An application for a place on the ballot must be in writing; signed, sworn to by the candidate before a person authorized to administer an oath, and dated.

Campaign Ethnics

Candidates must familiarize themshelves with the Ethnics Commission and the various forms required.
