Articulate the school’s mission to the community and solicit its support in realizing the mission.

Encourage student attendance within the community.
Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff assigned to campus including teachers, counselor, instructional aides, clerical support staff, and custodians.
Grades 6th to 12th
Currently hold or willingness to obtain a principal’s certification
If the candidate does not have certification, a principal’s program must be started prior to hiring.
Secondary campus leadership experiences
At least 5 years of public school experience
At least 5 written letters of recommendation of reference contact information from supervisors, colleagues, and at least on subordinate.
Willingness to work after hours on frequent basis and be an active part of the Booker community.
Desire to grow professionally
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required
Be organized and consistent.
Have a friendly demeanor while maintaining professional standards. (positive, optimistic and inspiring) team oriented.
Be able to communicate an understanding that one-size-fits-all decisions can be detrimental to the functioning of the school.
Be knowledgeable about all aspects of the JH/HS.
Have consistent, high expectations and will be very ambitious for the success of Booker ISD students.
Communicate and promote expectations for high-level performance to staff and students.
Communicate and promote expectations for student behavior at school and school events
Define expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies, classroom managements, and communication with the public
Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure that program activities are related to program outcomes and use findings to take corrective actions.
Collaborate with other stakeholders and lead the development of school improvement.
Have the ability to manage the campus budget.
Have the ability to make staffing decisions for the school.
Ensure the effective and quick resolution of conflicts.
